Spinal Flow is a unique form of bodywork. It focuses on promoting an observable wave along the spine. This in turn encourages accompanying balance within the body. Your body may feel like moving during treatment. Therefore, it is best to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. For your first session, wear more form fitting clothing if possible. This helps us accurately assess any postural misalignments or blockages in your spine.
For the treatment you’ll be asked to lay face down on a massage table while remaining fully clothed. If this position causes discomfort, we can accommodate by starting in a side-lying setup or even seated. However, lying face down is the optimal position for our technique.
Your practitioner will guide your nervous system towards enhanced spinal wave and flow. This is done through gentle contact on access points on your sacrum and cranium. The healing process is also supported by curated music. Our goal is to encourage relaxation and allow for a gentle unwinding process within your body. You are invited to lend your mindful awareness and breath to the process.
As you relax into the experience, you may feel subtle shifts in energy as blockages are released and energy flows more freely. You may also notice increased sensations of warmth, tingling or trembling. Some people report dreamlike images and insights. These are all positive signs that the session is working to restore balance and promote healing within your body. Movement is also encouraged during the session, as this can help release tension and facilitate the flow of energy.
Each individual’s experience is unique and may differ from others. While some may feel a deep sense of physical relaxation, others might notice an emotional release. Changes may not always be immediate; shifts often occur in the days following treatment. During this stage, sessions are more frequent to alleviate acute symptoms and prioritize clearing chronic blockages. A second session is typically scheduled the same week or within the first week. Some individuals benefit from having sessions every other day during the first week or two.
Once initial relief is achieved, care transitions to stabilizing the nervous system. We establish a new cadence tailored for you. It depends on your progress and how well your nervous system holds on to improvements between sessions. Visits may be reduced to every other week supporting your continued healing and alignment.
The final stage focuses on ongoing maintenance to prevent issues and sustain your progress. Just as regular exercise is part of your lifestyle, so is healthy eating. Similarly, ongoing care of your spine ensures long-term vitality.
